ABOUT LINEAGE FINDERS

Introducing Karen Culver

Principal Genealogist and Lineage Finder

Lineage Finders was founded by Karen Culver, an avid  genealogist with 25 years of experience. Karen uses today's technology to uncover facts about people who lived in the past. She works collaboratively with other genealogists, researchers, history experts, and lineage finders.

Returning Identities

Karen grew up in Calhoun County, Michigan, where members of her family settled in the 1830's.  When visiting her ancestors' communities 25 years ago, she sought information about their histories. But as they had migrated from place to place, documentation of their identities was lost. She vowed to return those identities by finding their parents, family lines and origins. Over the years she has relentlessly researched hundreds of people and examined thousands of records, and has completed training by respected organizations.

Research Experience

With her roots in colonial America, Karen has researched and documented:

  • Mayflower passengers and families
  • Colonial New Englanders, especially Massachusetts/ Connecticut/ Rhode Island
  • New Netherland settlers
  • Colonial and post-Revolution New York residents (statewide)
  • Early Virginia and North Carolina settlers
  • Revolutionary patriots
  • Settlers in Michigan and the other Great Lake states
  • Members of the Society of Friends (Quakers)
  • Migrations from the east to the midwest to the west
  • Applications to lineage societies
